Sand and wind howls through the San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm between the San Bernardino Mountains on the north and the San Jacinto Mountains to the south and links the Los Angeles basin to the Coachella Valley.  One of the windiest places in southern California, the San Gorgonio Wind Farm, as of January 2008, consists of 3218 turbines generating over 615 megawatts of power.
