The southern Patagonian ice field (Campo de Hielo Patagonico Sur) is the third largest concentration of fresh water in the world. The Perito Moreno is also one the only advancing glaciers left on Earth, creeping forward at a pace of around 2-3 meters per day and attracting hoards of tourists every year.   • A brief respite from the incessant Patagonian wind allowed for a view of the moon and a partial reflection of Cerro Madsen on Laguna de los Tres at sunrise.   Laguna de los Tres was named for the original party of 3 to successfully summit Mount FitzRoy which lies to the west of the glacier fed lake.  The Andean peak is located in a disputed border region between Chile and Argentina, but most commonly accessed via the town of El Chalten and the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares on the Argentine side. In August of 2007 an international team of researchers concluded that Angkor, a Unesco World Heritage Site, had been the largest preindustrial city in the world with an urban sprawl of 1,150 square miles.
