Bio

I have been in love with photography since I was 3 years old. My flirtations became serious in my mid teens and led to staff positions at my highschool paper and then Backlash Magazine. From there I held Editorial positions with my college newspaper and The Rocket Magazine. But with each step up the ladder, I felt like I experienced less and less of what made photography so alluring in the first place. It was starting to feel like a job. Before the thrill was completely gone, I switched majors from Photojournalism to Industrial Design, and spent 15 years working as a product designer. I never quite got over photography (nor stopped shooting) and in 2007 I chose to return to my first love. The design training and experience goes to good use though-it informs my compositions and self critiques and drives me to continuously improve.

Whether selling fine art prints or doing commissioned portraits, I treat my clients with the utmost respect. My process is transparent and delivery times, costs, etc. are all explained up front. I work hard to ensure clients are comfortable and take time to build a rapport with my subjects. This puts everyone at ease and clears the way for beautiful, honest portraits. At least that's what my clients tell me.

On a more personal level, I enjoy rock climbing, snowboarding, adventure, travel, organic gardening, urban chicken keeping, and sustainable design. I do my best to keep things green as I go about my photography business, and am always looking for more ways to tread lightly on the planet.
